God Bless Canadian Tire

We are enjoying our time at Weedy Gardens. To say that this is a motley assortment of characters would be an understatement. The neighbours are a mixed bag - from a lawyer to a carpenter from Michigan who retired early due to disability. He has been living here part time since the 70's and was known around the area for his marijuana crops. He still lives "next door" and we think he still "farms". No one is venturing too far into the woods!
There's also a family friend from Ottawa staying here in a tent in the woods for a month. He's about 60 years old and on the feminine side (although he has kids). Still lives at home with his mother who is 92 just outside Ottawa. We got chatting one day and he has serious mommy issues - I started looking around for the keys to the Bates Motel :) We have spent the last two days doing some serious weeding and gardening. Tonight is picking produce and getting everything ready for the farmer's market in Charlettown tomorrow. There is a young Japanese man here who is very friendly and has become our beer drinkin' buddy.
Thursday we head out to Montague to stay in a b&b for 2 nights and scout the area. It's where I want to have my b&b and I have bookmarked several properties for sale.
There's also a gorgeous ranch style house close to this farm in the same valley. It's beautiful here but I want to be closer to the ocean. Kevin, however, is starting to talk about buying a beef cattle farm.....omg.
Well, gotta ice the gimpy knee as I'm on lunch break. Hopefully will upload some new pics tonight. Some neighbour farmers who run a red currant operation are coming over later to "check us out" as they may need help. Better put on my least dirty shorts and headband for that interview.
