I don't think we're at Marineland, Toto

Yesterday was a day off as our hosts had to head to Fredericton for the day. In the morning we pedalled down to the Farmer's Market and picked up some food. Then we headed over to the Algonquin Hotel and toured an art show that was going on.
In the afternoon we headed back in to town (all of a 3 minute pedal away) for some whale watching in a Catamaran. Our hosts know the owners so we got a discount.
The trip out was nice. We "parked" off Campobello Island and watched a mother/calf combo of finback whales for about 1 1/2 hours. Unfortunately there were just the 2. They would surface for about 30 seconds then dive and disappear for about 10 minutes. Kevin got some shots. I was watching through the binoculars. There were also lots of harbour porpoises and birds. On the trip back to the wharf we were trying to outrun a storm and the clouds were spectacular. My camera didn't do them justice. All in all a good day. Now if the whale watch had been in the States I'm sure the bar car would be open for the 45 minute trip out to the whales. Great way to earn some extra revenue.
