Keeping Vermont Weird

When the Waltons come down off the mountain they head for the Newfane Cafe and Creamery. Actually it's a hell of a little restaurant. The owner looks like a grumpy version of Santa Claus but all the other staff are young and fun. They have quite the lineup of food available. The squid is carved from wood and hangs on the wall of the dining room. The table is a bunch of jar lids welded together to form a tabletop. The antique car was spotted in White River Junction. Today we worked out in the fields. Kevin DROVE THE TRACTOR
pulling along the brush mower. He is a happy camper as driving a tractor is a fantasy/wish he's carried to every place we've wwoofed. We had to stake out more quadrants to move the sheep and goats tomorrow and he had to mow down the brush so we could pound in the portable electric fence. It was 92 degrees Fahrenheit and we worked for 5 hours. I think we've earned our Bud Light Lime. The two 20 year old wwoofers seem to be slacking off because the old folks are working like demons. I think I'll have a chat with the owner tonight. The other two wwoofers (young ladies) have spent the last two days indoors so I think there needs to be a reversal of fortune. This Friday we are heading out for Sturbridge Massachusetts. We'll be staying over two nights and seeing old Sturbridge Village (like Upper Canada Village) with old buildings and interpreters. Just the type of thing Kevin loves for his photo safaris. Well, I think I've earned a soft ice cream cone so I'm gonna make tracks. Thanks for reading.
