The rain has stopped

Yesterday it rained from the middle of the night to early evening the next day. A steady downpour with no interruption. Neither the dogs nor I were inclined to walk very far so we stayed indoors and baked oatmeal cookies. It was difficult for Stanley and Lucy, not having opposable thumbs, so they thought it best just to supervise. Like Fancy, Lady Lucy likes to plunk herself down at my feet when I'm working in the kitchen. Unlike Fancy it's harder to jump over a 50 lb. lab than a 10 pound mini dachshund. Stanley, on the other hand, couldn't care less about what food may or may not be prepared in there.
Today was rain free so we headed back to Duck Creek Park. Lots of ball throwing for Stanley and grass eating for Lucy. A bald eagle was sitting in a tree about 100 feet off the trail, calm as could be and not the least distressed by the dogs cavorting and sniffing around under his branch. Of all the days to not have my camera! Near the end of our walk the skies clouded over. We're back in the kitchen baking a cardamom twist bread, drinking tea and reading the National Post.
After the dog walk tomorrow I might poke around downtown Ganges with my camera. Let's hope there's some nice sunlight.
