Thank you Queen Victoria

What a gorgeous Victoria Day weekend. Kevin and I loaded the car up and headed down to Amherstburg for a fantastic, sunny, warm weekend. We stayed at McKinnon's Lakeside Bed and Breakfast, right on Lake Erie. The view was fantastic, the accomodations lovely and the breakfasts divine. Louise catered to our Paleo requirements. I think we had more meat protein for breakfast than we got in a whole week wwoofing at some farms!
And we're off in the fun mobile

There's a lot to catch up on. My laptop died shortly after arriving home from my housesitting assignment so I haven't been able to upload any photos. Last weekend Kevin and I went in to Toronto to watch the Crossfit Eastern Regional Championships. What amazing feats of athleticism. It was quite exciting.

We also headed up to Lucknow last weekend to pick up our pasture fed beef. We've ordered lamb from Tony and Fran's farm before so we thought we'd give the beef a try. Tony's been farming sustainably since 1973. He uses Belgian horses to work the land. They have chickens, beef, pigs and logs of gorgeous pasture. As well, they were selling a lot of heritage vegetable seedlings. Here's some pics from our day at the farm (which my dogs enjoyed as well).
Chicken in a barrel - all that's missing is the secret, crunchy batter.

Tony's about to take a bunch out for a wagon ride around the farm.

Now THIS is pastoral

Look at all that lovely grass for the cows.

Pretty piggy bums

Can you spot the mini doxie?
And last, but not least, some shots of my friend Mike Bateman (formerly of Ontario) on his newly purchased bike.
