Day 4 - where are we again?

I think I'm just starting to miss home cooked meals.  Shake it off - 5 more days to go. This stretch of drive will take us from Boise, Idaho to Afton, Wyoming.
At times I thought I was back in Santa Fe - geography is so similar

We saw so many old trucks in beautiful condition. I'm jealous

They even had a police escort.

Craters of the Moon, National Monument - acres and acres of lava

Afton is in the southwest corner of the state, about an hour south of Jackson Hole. The scenery is much of what we have already been driving through, sage, desert, gorgeous hills, small towns, ranches and cattle......Black Angus seems to predominate with a few Red Angus thrown in for interest.
We are driving back into the land of high mountains, huge trees and gorgeous rivers. We pass the Palisades Reservoir on the border of Idaho and Wyoming. The only word I can think of to describe this structure is massive. We seemed to drive around it for half an hour. I wished I could close my eyes and see what this area looked like 60 years ago before they flooded it. It reminded me of Lake Powell - calm water, lots of pleasure boats and people enjoying themselves. Lots of groups of 5-6 R.V.'s huddled together on the shore in mini-camps. It looked like a lovely place to spend a weekend.
