Workin' on my tan, Stan

A simply glorious day on Salt Spring Island. Today was the 'season opener' for the Saturday Market and you couldn't have asked for a nicer day. We drove into town to walk the dogs at Mouat Park and I have never seen so many cars or people since I arrived. They're a bit like rattlesnakes.....living quietly underground all through the winter, huddled together in their packs and piles and as soon as the sun comes out........hordes. I didn't know there were that many cars on the entire island. It is the official start of tourist season and every b&b is full. All the ferries on the island were full - if you hadn't reserved in advance you were out of luck.

We picked up our friend Chris and headed down to Fulford to the Rock Salt Cafe. We ate dinner, saw Kevin onto the ferry for his trip back east and hit the community centre for The Foggy Hogtown Boys - fantastic bluegrass band from Toronto.
All in all, a very good day.
